Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 14, 2026
BaudHub is a Modbus RTU/TCP and serial debugger for Mac.

This policy explains how BaudHub handles data. In short: we don't collect it. BaudHub talks only to the devices you connect, and your sessions stay on your Mac.

1. No Data Collection

BaudHub does not collect personal data and does not send anything you work with to us.

Information about your devices leaves your Mac only when you export or share a file yourself.

2. Network Connections

BaudHub connects to the network only when you need it to:

Modbus TCP does not encrypt data, so use it on networks you trust. If macOS asks whether BaudHub may connect to devices on your local network, you can change your answer later in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

3. USB Adapters

To recognize your USB adapter and tell you when it needs a driver, BaudHub reads basic information about the adapters you connect. This information stays on your Mac.

4. Data Stored on Your Mac

BaudHub keeps your connections, devices, readings, logs and settings on your Mac, so your work is still there the next time you open the app. Files you export, such as sessions, logs and recordings, are saved only where you choose.

5. Purchases and Site Passes

BaudHub Pro and the 7-Day and 30-Day Site Passes are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and BaudHub never receives your payment details or Apple Account password.

So that a Site Pass works on all your Macs, BaudHub saves which pass you bought and when it ends in your iCloud account. Nothing else is saved there. Purchases are subject to Apple's privacy policy and terms.

6. No Advertising or Analytics Services

BaudHub contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services from other companies, and it does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.

If you share analytics with app developers in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. You control that setting.

7. Deleting Your Data

We don't collect data, so there is nothing stored on our side to request or delete. On your Mac, you can delete connections, devices and simulators in BaudHub and delete any files you exported. To remove everything BaudHub saved, delete the app, then delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.foowei.BaudHub (in Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder).

8. Frequently Asked Questions

Does BaudHub upload my device data?

No. Readings, logs and sessions stay on your Mac unless you export and share them yourself.

Can other computers connect to my simulator?

Only while a Modbus TCP simulator is running, and only computers on your network that can reach it. Stop the simulator to end this.

Does BaudHub see my payment information?

No. Apple handles billing. BaudHub only learns which purchases are active.

Does BaudHub work offline?

Yes. Serial devices, devices on your local network and the simulator work without an internet connection. Purchases, restores and using a Site Pass on another Mac need Apple's services.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when BaudHub's behavior or legal requirements change. Changes are noted by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
